形态特征：马兜铃科细辛属多年生草本植物。根状茎斜上伸，直径4-5毫米。叶2枚，对生，叶片扁圆开，宽6-9厘米，顶端有1-1.5厘米的钝尖。4-5月开花，花深紫色，单生叶腋，具长2-4厘米的花梗，萼筒钟状，3裂，裂片卵形至宽卵形，长8-10毫米，宽5-6毫米。蒴果半球形。
生境分布：生于海拔1000-2000米的林下。分布于陕西、甘肃、江苏、安徽、湖北、四川、浙江及东北各省。日本、朝鲜也有。
用途：全草、根和根状茎、叶均可入药，能发表散寒、温肺祛痰、祛风止痛。
