【来源】
为菊科植物心叶风毛菊的根。
【植物形态】
心叶风毛菊 多年生草本。茎直立，高30～50厘米。根生叶有长柄，柄长4～7厘米，有翼；茎生叶互生，叶片心脏形，长7～10厘米，宽5～11厘米，先端短尖，基部心形，边缘有波状浅裂及锐锯齿，上面深绿色，有短毛，下面淡绿色，无毛。头状花序顶生，伞房状排列；总苞钟形，苞片4列，覆瓦状排列，外层最短，卵状披针形，先端渐尖，紫黑色；花冠全为管状，红紫色，裂片与管部约等长.果有4棱，光滑，冠毛羽状。 生于山野阴湿处。分布贵州、四川、湖北、湖南等地。

夏、秋采收。
【性味】
性温，味辛。
【功用主治】
散寒，镇痛。
【选方】
①治关节痛：马蹄细辛三钱，红牛膝四钱，骨碎补五钱。泡酒或煎水服。 ②治恶寒头痛：马蹄细辛二钱。煎水服。 ③治劳伤：马蹄细辛五钱。泡酒服。
