This paper discusses the Sr isotope data obtained from previous studies on the ore-host rocks (Taihua Group),the Wenvu granite and the fluid inclusions of gold-bearing quartz veins in the Xiaoqinling gold field as well as new Sr isotope data recently obtained by the authors for the Neo-Mesoproterozoic strata (Guandaokou and Luanchuan Groups).

The term the Archean Taihua Group in western Henan has been used more than thirty years, but no fossils have been found in it.

The Qincangou formation belongs to the Taihua Group in the current division of the strata , This formation occurs in the west plunging crown of the regional composite antiform and it is the successive sedimentation on the Sanguan Myao formation.

From rocks and sediments, we know the region of Xiaoqingling is provided with typical two laies model of the earth' s crust, It' s basement is Taihua group of primeval, it' s cover rocks is sediment and lava.

The Taihuashan gold deposit in central Fujian is a typical hot spring one, which shows prospect of large-sized reserves.

Taihua complex from the Xiaoqinling area western Henan, consists of supracrustal sequence and granitic gneisses.
