The effects of copper plate thickness, water slot depth and nickel layer thickness on copper plate distortion and stress were investigated.

The causes of breakout during the production of low carbon steel for cold rolling by Tanggang FTSC thin slab caster were analysed and the optimization countermeasures such as the control of mould taper,the copper plate shape of mould narrow side and SEN shape were put forward.
