为菊科植物向日葵的茎髓，植物形态详"向日葵子"条。
【化学成分】
茎含多糖约53%，尚含绿原酸、新绿原酸、4-o-咖啡酰奎宁酸、东莨菪甙。
【功用主治】
治血淋，尿路结石，乳糜尿，小便不利。 《江苏药材志》："止血淋。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱；或煅存性吞服，或捣烂开水冲服。外用：捣敷。
【选方】
①治尿路结石、肾结石：向日葵梗心三尺，煎服，每日一剂，连服一星期。(苏医《中草药手册》) ②治乳糜尿：向日葵梗心二尺，水芹菜根二两。煎服，每日一剂，连服数日。(苏医《中草药手册》) ③治小便不通：向日葵茎心五钱。水煎服。(江西《草药手册》) ④治百日咳：向日葵茎心捣烂，冲开水加白糖服。(江西《草药手册》) ⑤治外伤出血：向日葵瓤，敷患处。(内蒙古《中草药新医疗法资料选编》)
【临床应用】
向日葵内白心煎水当茶饮用治胃癌。亦有用葵花梗心及侧柏叶合剂治慢性气管炎者。
