形态特征:菊科紫菀属多年生草本植物，高5-45厘米。根状茎粗壮。茎基部叶莲座状，倒卵圆形、长圆状匙形或倒披针形，长2-7厘未，宽O.5-1.3厘米，上部叶长圆状线形或披针形。7-8月开花，头状花序在茎端单生，直径3-4厘米，稀达6厘米。总苞半球形，直径0.8-1.5厘米;苞片约3层，近等长或外层略短，长7-10毫米，线状长圆形;舌状花30-50个，舌片蓝紫色，长12-23毫米;管状花黄色，长3.5-5毫米。瘦果卵圆形，长2.5-3毫米;冠毛1层。
生境分布:生于海拔3000-4500米的高山针叶林林缘、灌丛中及山坡草地。分布于西藏、云南、四川及甘肃。不丹及缅甸也有。
