    形态特征:豆科豌豆属一年生攀援草本植物,高达2米。小叶宽椭圆形,长2-5厘米,宽1-2.5厘米。花单生叶腋或数朵排列为总状而腋生,白色。荚果矩形,长5-10厘米,荚果内有坚纸质衬皮。种子圆形,2-10粒,青绿色,干后变为黄色。 
    生境分布: 全国各地均有栽培。欧洲和亚洲其他国家亦有栽培。
    用途:种子及嫩荚、嫩苗均可食用。种子含淀粉、油脂, 作药用有强壮、利尿、止泻之功效。茎叶能清凉解暑,还可作绿肥和饲料。
