Properties of the castables,rammed materials and gunning materials used in the iron runner of large scale blast furnaces are studied and relationship among the material properties,working processes and service life analyzed.

As a part of the blast furnace production, the iron runner is the necessary passage that hot metal flows from the iron notch of blast furnace to hot metal ladle, hence endurance of the iron runner has direct relation with the well-balanced and ordered operation of the blast furnace.

In this research the necessary of desiliconization process which take precedence of dephosphorization pretreatment is studied, also the desiliconization experiment by charging desiliconization agent into iron runner of BF in Jiuquan Steel Plant is studied too.

In order to improve the service efficiency of iron trough,increase useful time of refractory,guarantee pudding manufacture on the rails,decrease unit consume of refractory,improve the pudding efficience and benefit of blast furnace.
