使甲状腺素的合成和释放减少的物质。甲状腺素的合成和释放减少,可引起甲状腺肿大。如:①食物如萝卜族含有硫脲类的致甲状腺肿物质,黄豆、白菜中也有某些可以阻抑甲状腺激素合成的物质,引起甲状腺肿大。②土壤、饮水中钙、镁、锌等矿物质的含量,对甲状腺肿的发生也有关系。有的地方性甲状腺肿的流行地区除缺乏碘外,也缺少上述各种元素。③药物如硫氰化钾、过氯酸钾、对氨水杨酸、硫脲嘧啶类等,可妨碍甲状腺激素的合成,大量碘化物可抑制甲状腺激素合成和释放,从而引起甲状腺肿大。
