| 菊芋 Helianthus tuberosus 菊科向日葵属多年生宿根植物。又称洋姜。以块茎供食用。原产北美。根系极发达，地下匍匐茎顶端膨大成块茎，梨形或纺锤形，表皮黄色或白色等。块茎最外层为表皮细胞，其内为皮层，由薄壁细胞组成，木质部的薄壁细胞特别发达，为块茎的主要部分。地上茎高达 3米 ，叶长卵形。秋季开花，但结实率低，长江以南可形成种子，生产上一般用块茎繁殖。属短日照植物。人工缩短日照可加速块茎的形成。根系强大，适应性强，可利用荒地栽培。春季播种时一般选较大的整块茎作种，播种一次，可连续收获4～5年。常见的虫害有地老虎、蝼蛄和金针虫等。块茎含淀粉以及菊糖、多缩戊糖等。主要供盐渍用，脆嫩可口，也可炒食，或作制取淀粉和酒精原料。 |
