心理环境(mental environment)对人的心理发生实际影响的整个生活环境。人们的生活环境包括自然环境和社会环境,它囊括了对人发生影响的一切过去、现在和将来的人、事、物等全部社会存在,其中历史传统、文化习俗、社会关系等社会现实,则是更为重要的心理环境。人不能反映生活环境中的全部事物,实际上对人心理发生影响作用的心理环境只是人整个生活环境的一部分。在同样的客观环境中,每个人所受到的影响也并非一致,现实环境在多大程度上能成为人的心理环境,取决于现实因素本身作用于人的强烈程度与人的主观心理因素,即受人的个性倾向(如注意、兴趣、需要、价值观等)和认知结构两个方面影响。只有客观环境因素对人的心理发生影响时,这些环境因素才对人的活动有作用。它才是具有主观意义的因素,才是人的心理环境。故人的心理环境比起人的周围客观现实来要小得多。心理环境也可以理解为人的头脑中的环境映象。诸多环境刺激作用于人,经过认知选择、评价,产生情绪体验,编织成个人对环境的统一图景。因此,生活在同一环境中的人,头脑中的环境映象可能截然不同。而正是这种心理中的环境反映,调节着每个人的需要、动机和目标,引导和制约着一个人对周围的人和事采取什么样的行动。 (孙俊山撰张燮审)
