BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhuanet) -- China is still reporting sporadic cases of the H7N9 bird flu in some parts of the country.
One person in Shanghai has just died of the disease, and Shandong province has just reported another case of infection in a 4 year-old patient, whose father was the province’s first confirmed infected person.
China’s health authorities have been working closely with their international counterparts in tracking the flu strain. So far, officials haven’t found the virus in poultry farms. They say it’s safe to eat fully-cooked poultry products.
In a recent meeting, the World Organization for Animal Health said China’s efforts in fighting the flu are forceful and effective, and that the government has been open and transparent about the situation.
