BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhuanet) -- A building under construction has collapsed in the centre of Tanzania’s commercial capital, Dar es Salaam, killing at least two people.
A police spokesman says 17 people have been pulled from the debris, three are reported to be seriously injured. Rescuers are searching for survivors, as bulldozers remove rubble. Police say the building was in the final stages of construction and was still unoccupied. A Chinese medical team based in Tanzania is providing support to the local rescue team.
Jiao Qi, Chinese medical team in Tanzania, said, "What we mainly do is deal with the wounds of the injured. If people suffer fractures, we bandage and dress the wounds first. We send the survivors to the hospital as soon as possible."
