BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Patriot missile systems from the United States have arrived in Turkey.
A US navy ship carrying the Patriots docked at a Turkish naval base in Iskenderun Bay in southern Turkey. The missile defence systems are expected to be deployed in the province of Gaziantep in the coming days.
The US, Germany, and the Netherlands are all providing two batteries to help protect Turkey against any potential attack from Syria. The first pair of batteries, sent by the Netherlands, went operational on Saturday around the city of Adana.
The two German Patriots, were deployed around the Turkish city of Kahramanmaras, some 100 kilometers from the Syrian border, on Monday.
