BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- The remains of the late President of the Palestinian Authority, Yasser , have been exhumed. Experts from , Switzerland and have taken samples from Arafat’s bones in order to conduct tests into the cause of his death.

Due to length of time that has passed since his decease, experts were only able to take samples from his bones. Arafats remains were then reinterred six hours later. The experts will take the samples back to their own countries to be tested for evidence of polonium-210 and other lethal substances. It’s believed the tests could take many months. Other samples have also been taken from Arafat’s bedroom, office and personal belongings.

Arafat died in 2004, but the underlying causes of death remain a mystery. France began a murder inquiry in August after Swiss experts reported finding abnormal levels of radioactive polonium-210 on his personal belongings.
