BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- n rebels captured a large arsenal, located about half-way between the city of Aleppo and the Turkish border on Sunday.

Unverified video footage showed rebels standing among tanks and artillery inside an arms depot. Opposition campaigners said at least 18 officers among loyalist forces to President Bashar al-Assad were also taken prisoner. Artillery stationed in the base was used to bomb towns and villages in rural Aleppo and the neighbouring province of Idlib.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands’ defence minister said on Sunday that the Netherlands and have discussed sending Patriot missiles to NATO ally Turkey. They had been requested by Turkey earlier, in order to help defend the country’s border with Syria.
