BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- China's Zou Kai has presented a flawless routine on the gymnastics floor, successfully defending the title he won four years ago.
Zou, who started second in the final, improved his leading qualifying score to reach a lofty 15.933 points. He overtook the reigning world champion Kohei Uchimura from . ’s Denis Ablyazin shared a 15.800 with Uchimura, but a lower execution point pushed him to the bronze medal.
Zou became the second athlete to win the men’s floor exercise twice. He also lifted China to equal the former Soviet Union on a record four gold medals in this event. The 24-year-old collected triple gold medals in the Beijing Games, and has already propelled China to win the men’s team gymnastics this week.
