The Communist Party of China has convened an international event in southwest China's Chongqing to discuss global economic governance. The annual CPC Dialogue with the World is in its third installment since it launching in 2014. More than 300 political figures and scholars from fifty countries are attending.

Discussing initiatives and actions of political parties. The CPC event aims to trigger a new round of brainstorming to forge deeper cooperation. In particular, to seek ways out of sluggish global economic growth.

The event highlights the importance of innovation in building more reasonable economic order.

Participants at the Dialogue discuss China's growth model and contributions.

"The question of governance is very crucial because China is very much underrepresented in the IMF, but that's under 7 percent of the voting right. It's gonna take a very long time to change that. I thought it gonna be change very quickly but it won't," said John Ross, member of UK's Labour Party.

President Xi Jinping has expressed that China will contribute its wisdom and experience to the improvement of global governance. However, this cannot be achieved without the efforts of the global community. Equally important is the establishment of a sharing mechanism platform for the countries involved.

The meeting also includes workshops on regional economic cooperation. Former Thai Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, proposes to strengthen greater connectivity. The CPC Dialogue follows the Hangzhou G20 summit held in September.

It provides an opportunity to further cement the consensus reached there, and promote an open and inclusive world economy.
