The alleged shooter was shot and had been taken into custody, said the police. According to authorities, the shooting incident occurred in the underground visitors center adjacent to the Capitol, where visitors go through security before they tour the Capitol complex. The lockdown on the White House was soon lifted, while the Capitol complex was still under lockdown.
