Activists in the United Kingdom say Islamic State's military commander was badly wounded by a U.S. air strike earlier this week, but he is still alive.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director said Abu Omar al-Shishani had been moved to Islamic State's base of operations in Raqqa for treatment. A U.S. official said on Tuesday that Abu Omar al-Shishani had been targeted near the town of al-Shadadi in Syria. The strike itself involved multiple waves of manned and unmanned aircraft.

Meanwhile, Britain's Sky News says it has obtained tens of thousands of documents containing 22,000 names, addresses, telephone numbers and family contacts of Islamic State militants.
