Springtime drapes the countryside with a golden ocean of canola flowers. The small county of Luoping lies in a relatively undeveloped eastern part of Yunnan Province, but now travelers and photographers are flocking here to behold the spectacle. A group of senior photographers of the Shaoxing Photographers' Committee came here for the canola flowers and were all astonished by the wonderful scene. "We've been to many places for canola flower views, including Qinghai Province. I didn't think I would need any more photos of canola flowers until I came here. I'm taking a lot more now," a tourist said. "I think this is one of the most beautiful views in Yunnan Province. The yellow flower ocean goes with the blue sky," a Dutch tourist said. With this spectacle as its backdrop, Luoping County is organizing a series of activities to boost tourism, including the International Canola Flower Cultural Tourism Festival. "We came from neighboring Guizhou Province and are stunned by the view. It's so beautiful. It's a heaven for shutterbugs like us," shutterbug Zhu Ming said. Meanwhile, others are heading to Guizhou to behold another gorgeous blossom - the plum flower. In Zhenfeng County, a group of high-school students are capturing the beauty through drawing rather than photography. "I want to express that there are also beautiful views like snowfall in Spring, even though it hasn't snowed at all," one student said. In recent years, Zhenfeng County has encouraged its residents to plant plum trees. The total area where plum flowers are on show now surpasses 6 thousand hectares.
