Under the theme of "Youth Style" the contest has attracted participants from across the country since launching six months ago. According to the organizers, the event, part of China Fashion Week, aims to promote new talent and improve the design and development of knitwear. "We have participants from 26 regions and cities. Many of them are teachers and students at school and professional designers. Out of over 1,000 pieces, we have selected 23 teams for the final." said Cai Zhongwen, Contest Organizer. Chen Yangtao, from Jiangxi Province, won the gold medal with her collection "Fairy Tales." And it’s not just knitwear. Five South Korean designers have hosted a joint show to highlight the latest trends in their country. "In my collection, I use a lot of designs and cuts that are usually used in men’s wear and put it into women’s wear, in order to show a handsome sense of women." said Shin Jang Kyoung, Designer. And next to a runway show that features environmentally-friendly designs. The space-themed set provided a backdrop to collections of both business and casual wear. According to the brand’s spokesman, the high-tech material they have used is particularly comfortable.
