Located more than 600 kilometers away from Lhasa, capital of Tibet, Dejiu Village faces the Mount Qomolangma in its southeast. With an altitude of 4,972 meters, the village seldom see green trees around the year. There are now 20 families and 118 villagers living in the village, where agriculture can hardly develop and people live on livestock (namely yak and sheep) raising for many generations. With the help of the government, the village has taken on a new look in recent years, with the living standards of the villagers rising obviously. However, to add the income of its villagers is still a problem facing Dejiu. (Xinhua/Wang Yunjia)
