BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- One day on from a fatal shooting, Los Angeles International Airport terminal remains closed.
A gunman opened fire on Friday morning, killing an unarmed federal airport security agent and wounding a number of others. Authorities have identified the suspected shooter as Paul Anthony Ciancia, saying he was shot and wounded by police in an exchange of fire at the airport’s Terminal 3.
Los Angeles airport says it has no timetable for when the FBI will complete its investigation, which will look into the gunman’s background and motivation.
Passengers who left luggage and other property behind as they ran to escape have still not been able to collect their belongings. The airport says it’s hopeful they’ll be allowed to return soon.
