BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Anti-government protests have entered into a fourth day in the Turkish capital Ankara.
Riot police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators. The protest is in response to the death of a 22-year old man, Ahmet Atakan, during clashes on Tuesday with police in Antakya, near the border with Syria. Atakan died after falling from a building, but investigations continue. This has renewed the unrest that had cooled after thousands took to the streets in June, in an expression of discontent against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s plans to redevelop an Istanbul park and what they said was his authoritarianism.
