BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Hundreds of Syrians have taken to the street in Damascus to protest against a potential military strike led by the US.
Monday’s protest saw demonstrators chanting anti-US slogans and shouting support for embattled President Bashar al-Assad. A number of Palestinians living in Syria also joined the protest, waving Palestinian flags and rallying support for Assad. Some of the protesters are calling the possible military strikes "unfair" and serving "only the American army."
On Wednesday, Senate will vote on whether to authorize military action in Syria. US president Barack Obama is now ramping up an intensive lobbying blitz to convince a skeptical Congress.
