BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Tokyo have won the right to host the 2020 summer Olympic Games, despite the negative effects from the recent Fukushima leaking incidente. The result has brought the whole city in to hail.

As the midnight pasted in Tokyo, residents began to gather, to watch the IOC vote on the host city for 2020 Olympics half way across the globe in Buenos Aires. Residents were anxious, as some newspapers reported of Tokyo’s chances slimmed due to contaminated water leak from crippled Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power plant

Amidst anxiety and hopes, the moment came.

A second time lucky for Tokyo, it will host the summer Olympics in 2020.

"Japan is a safe place and has lots of tourist attractions. I hope people will enjoy coming here."

"I was worried for a moment and I prayed, and prayed. And we won. I am really happy."

"I am really happy. But I know that people from overseas are worried about radiation and the situation in Japan in seven years. I hope we can recover from the nuclear leak and the economy, to show a confident and competent Japan by then."

"The announcement for 2020 Olympic bid was just finished and Tokyo won the bid. People are going home with cheerful faces. But there are still lot of issues that Japan needs to address like the nuclear issues and the economic recovery. That is something that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe needs to tackle as soon as he comes back from Buenos Aires"

Tokyo is confident that it has the infrastructure, efficient transportation system and compact venues. All situated within 8-kilometer radius. But Japan has to fulfill its promises in containing the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi-Nuclear power plant. Which Shinzo Abe said the government would now take the lead. Some analysts here say the economic benefits will reach trillions of yen in construction and Olympic related project. Which Japan dearly needs for its economic recovery.
