BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- President Xi Jinping and his Brazilian counterpart Dilma Rousseff have pledged to boost solidarity and cooperation between the BRICS countries.
Xi Jinping said China and Brazil should strengthen coordination to oppose trade protectionism, safeguard the common interests of emerging markets, and continue to contribute to global growth. Xi called for cooperation in energy, mining, agriculture and infrastructure construction.
Rousseff said Brazil hopes to strengthen high-level coordination with China and optimize the structure of two-way trade. She said emerging markets need to beef up cooperation to urge certain countries to adopt responsible economic policies and promote the reform of the international financial system.
