Kerry: Rockets used belong to Syria gov't
(Xinhua)   2013-08-31 09:33:49

BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- US Secretary of State John Kerry has spoken about intelligence report the US has gathered on last week’s alleged chemical weapons attack near Damascus. The release of the report follows President Barack Obama’s meeting with senior national security advisers on plans for possible military action against Syria.

John Kerry, US Secretary of State, said, "... ...It has to happen in the negotiating table, and we are deeply committed to getting there."

Meanwhile, the US Defense Secretary has said the Obama administration is consulting with allies to further develop the facts about the alleged chemical weapons attack. Chuck Hagel made the statement during a visit to Manila after British MPs rejected any possible involved from the UK in a strike against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government. Hagel said the UK’s opinion will still be sought.

Earlier, National Security Council spokesman Caitlin Hayden said the US decision will be guided by America’s best interests, suggesting the US may act alone if other nations won’t help.
