BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China will make a concerted effort with Turkmenistan to deepen the two countries’ strategic cooperation.

At a meeting on Thursday with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, Wang said China and Turkmenistan had witnessed remarkable development in bilateral relations in the past 21 years. The two countries have exchanged frequent high-level visits and continued to broaden cooperation in natural gas projects.

Berdymukhamedov said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to its relations with China and looks forward to Chinese President ’s visit to Turkmenistan in September. He voiced hope that the visit would enormously boost the two countries’ strategic relations.
