BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Investigators say it was the landing gear of Asiana Boeing 777 that hit a seawall during Saturday’s crash.
The disclosure came on Tuesday during a news conference by the US National Transportation Safety Board. The airliner hit a seawall at the end of the runway. The collision broke off the tail and sent the fuselage bouncing and skidding across the airfield.
The crash landing at San Francisco International Airport killed two 16-year-old Chinese girls and left at least two other people paralysed. The flight originated in Shanghai, and stopped over in Seoul before making the nearly 11-hour trip to San Francisco.
