BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korea’s defense minister has welcomed his Australian counterpart in Seoul for two days of talks on regional security issues.

It’s the second round of talks between Kim Kwan-jin and Stephen Smith, following their meeting in Australia in December 2011. Discussions on Wednesday are expected to focus on addressing tensions on the Korean peninsula.

The foreign ministers of the two countries are also expected to meet in Seoul on Wednesday, as part of a summit of defense and foreign ministers.
