BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhuanet) -- British Prime Minister has condemned the brutal killing of a soldier in South London. The soldier was stabbed to death Wednesday by two men shouting Islamist slogans. The two attackers are in custody after being shot by police.

He said, "This country will be absolutely resolute in its stand against violent extremism and terror. We will never give in to terror, or terrorism in any of its forms. Second, this view is shared by every community in our country. This was not just an attack on Britain and on the British way of life, it was also a betrayal of Islam and of the Muslim communities who give so much to our country."

Cameron has held an emergency meeting of his intelligence chiefs to assess the response to what he calls a "terrorist" attack. A source close to the investigation says, two British men of Nigerian descent are accused of the killing. One man, filmed calmly justifying the killing as he stood by the body holding a knife and meat cleaver in bloodied hands, saying they were acting in revenge for British wars in Muslim countries.

They are said to have been known to security services. Some acquaintances named the suspected attacker as 28-year-old Londoner Michael Adebolajo- a British-born convert to radical Islam.

Britain has deployed troops in since 2001 and had troops in from 2003 to 2009. It’s the first deadly strike in mainland Britain since terrorists killed dozens in transport bombings in London in 2005.
