BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhuanet) -- The launched another two short-range missiles on Monday, bringing the total number of test-launches to 6 in just three days. Monday’s twin launches follow 3 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. CCTV reporter Wang Xinye has been assessing the reaction of the international community.

’s Yonhap News Agency says Monday’s launches involved KN-02 short-range missiles. The DPRK’s Committee for the Peaceful Unification of Korea confirmed the launches, calling them a powerful deterrent against the US and South Korean attempts to start a nuclear war.
China has once again called for calm.
Hong Lei, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said, "We hope all concerned parties can consider the overall stability of the Korean Peninsula and do more to ease the tension and improve relations towards each other. We hope the various issues can be addressed through talks."
During his recent visit to , UN Secretary General expressed concern about the tension on the Korean Peninsula. But he also praised China’s efforts to solve the problems.
Some South Korean media outlets are reporting that the country is on high alert. But officials seem less worried.
South Korea’s Defense Ministry says the DPRK may be developing a large calibre rocket, but not one that’s capable of being used in battle. Nonetheless, the South Korean military is closely watching every move.

The US reaction has been rather cool. The State department has made no comment since Saturday when the first missiles were launched, but has only called on the DPRK to remain restrained in its behaviour.
