BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Two of three men charged with obstructing the investigations into the Boston Marathon bombings have denied any wrongdoing. This is according to the attorneys for Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, who were speaking on their client’s behalf. Both are college friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who has been charged over the bombing.

Robert Stahl, Attorney for Dias Kadyrbayev, said, "Dias Kadyrbayev absolutely denies the charges. As we’ve said from the very beginning, he assisted the FBI in this investigation. He is just as shocked and horrified by the violence in Boston that took place as the rest of the community is. He did not know that this individual was involved in the bombing."

Harlan Protass, Attorney For Azamat Tazhayakov, said, "My client, Azamat Tazhayakov, feels horrible and was shocked to hear that someone that he knew at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was involved with the Boston Marathon bombing, just like many other individuals who were interviewed on campus. He has cooperated fully with the authorities and looks forward to the truth coming out in this case. "

Three men were taken into custody as part of the investigations into the Boston Marathon bombings on Wednesday. US prosecutors said Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev are charged with conspiring to obstruct justice. A third man, Robel Phillipos, is charged with making false statements to federal investigators.

The bombings on April 15th killed three people and wounded more than 260. Investigators had previously identified two ethnic Chechen brothers as suspects. 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is currently being held in a prison medical center after being charged with crimes that carry the death penalty. His 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, died in a gunfight with police three days after the bombings.
