China, S. Korea discuss tension on Korean Peninsula

BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has visited China to discuss the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Premier Li Keqiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi have separately met with Yun Byung-se to discuss the possibility of a coordinated approach to easing tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The two countries have discussed ways to get the DPRK back to the negotiating table.

South Korea said it believed China would play an important role in safeguarding peace and stability on the Peninsula. Meanwhile, China’s special envoy for the DPRK, Wu Dawei, is in the US now to also seek ways of calming tensions.
