BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon has warned that a "very small window of opportunity" for talks between the Syrian government and opposition representatives "may soon close."
Speaking to reporters on Friday, The UN chief said he was concerned of rising sectarian violence and the risk of spillover in neighboring countries.
Ban Ki-moon said, "I know that the Syrian government, particularly Foreign Minister Muallem, has expressed its willingness to meet with the opposition representatives. This is a very small window of opportunity which we strongly support and encourage them to use that. The opportunity may soon close."
