GAZA, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian Central Elections Commission (CEC) started Monday the weeklong voter registration in both the West Bank and the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip for the first time in seven years amid doubts of a prospect end to the Palestinian internal division.
Hana Nasser, president of the CEC, arrived in the Palestinian coastal enclave of Gaza from the West Bank on Sunday. He told reporters in Gaza city on Monday that the voter registration has started and CEC will carry on with their job regardless what will be the results of the reconciliation talks. Full story
