BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has held a special meeting in Beijing with the leader of ’s New Komeito party, Natsuo Yamaguchi.

Yang said the New Komeito party, which follows a friendly policy towards China, is an important force in Japan, saying he hopes Yamaguchi’s visit will improve relations between the two countries. Yamaguchi said he had suggested his government to schedule a visit to China before the country’s diet meeting.

Yamaguchi arrived in Beijing on Tuesday. He met representatives of Japanese companies in China on Wednesday, ahead of talks with officials from the China-Japan Friendship Association. Yamaguchi is in Beijing until Friday.
