BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- The ruling Social Liberal Union is poised to win an overwhelming victory in Romania’s parliamentary elections. Exit poll results show that some 57 percent of the over 18 million voters cast their ballots for the ruling coalition.
The ruling coalition is followed far behind by the pro-presidential Right Romania Alliance. The populist People’s Party and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania also enters the new parliament. As many as seven institutions have been accredited by the Central Electoral Bureau to carry out exit polls for the parliamentary elections. The first partial results will be announced Monday morning local time by the Central Electoral Bureau.
