BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The logo for the 2013 APEC Summit in Indonesia has been unveiled. The host country’s Foreign Minister said the logo was selected from thousands of designs. It’s composed of 21 bamboo joints shaped to resemble an ox horn.

The symbol is meant to reflect how APEC’s 21 members will unite as one to tackle regional challenges together. The Foreign Minister said APEC still faces many difficulties as the global economic downturn continues. He also said that as the second largest economy in the world, China can play a more significant role in overcoming these challenges.
