Jordan's king dissolves parliament, orders holding elections

AMMAN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan on Thursday dissolved the lower house of parliament and ordered holding new elections, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

According to the constitutional amendments which the King endorsed in 2011, the government should resign in a maximum of one week after the dissolution of the lower house, which means that the government of current prime minister Fayez Tarawneh will resign in a week.  Full story
