BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- China's Lin Dan has retained his Olympic badminton title in the men's singles final, beating Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in a repeat of their Beijing showdown.
The match was a lot closer than the one-sided final four badminton years ago, with Lin prevailing in a deciding game for a 15-21, 21-10, 21-19 victory. The win makes the 28-year-old the first man to hold on to the Olympian badminton title. And he takes China to within one match of a clean sweep of the London badminton golds.
