Top Chinese legislator Wu Bang-guo has met Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu during a two-day stopover visit to Turkey. Wu called for substantial measures to strengthen the China-Turkey relationship.

Wu expressed China’s willingness to work with Turkey to implement their consensus on boosting strategic cooperation. He also encouraged Turkey to use its geographical advantage, tourist attractions and economic leverage. Wu praised the role of the ongoing "Year of Chinese Culture in Turkey" in increasing understanding.

Mutlu said Turkey highly values its strategic cooperation with China. It also expects to benefit from China’s rapid development. Mutlu invited Chinese enterprises to take part in infrastructure construction in railways, ports and energy. He also welcomed Chinese tourists. The two sides have also agreed to advance parliamentary exchanges.
