An earthqauke with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 has struck Luanxian county in TangShan city of north China's Hebei Province.

The epicenter of earthquake was just 8 kilometers below the surface. The quake could also be felt in Tianjin Municipality as well as here in Beijing, which is 180 kilometers northwest from the epicenter.

So far there has been no report on casualties. We'll keep you updated as we get more information.
