With the expanding of the English class size,this research attempts to find out the effects of cooperative learning on the students English proficiency,specifically their speaking ability in large-class English language teaching as well as their attitude towards cooperative learning in the large English class.

Based on an investigation into learners autonomy and the "learner-centered approach", this paper discusses the problems in college English teaching currently, attempt to put the autonomy theory in Chinese practice and set a new learning model in large-class English teaching.

With colleges and universities recruiting more students, English teaching in combined big classes becomes a common practice; subsequently, the rising student-population inevitably exerts a negative influence on English teaching.

Abstruct:Point out university English the top class in a kindergarten origin cause of formation, teaching of phenomenon, propose the problem that a teacher faces while carrying on the teaching of the top class in a kindergarten of university English, carry on the researching and analysing of pertinence, build the solution of constructing.
