矿物名称：钇萤石 yttro fluorite
- 矿物概述
化学组成：(y，ce)caf2o，其成分中的ca部分被稀土金属（元素）y钇置换；
鉴定特征：可以从它的立方晶形，八面解理，玻璃光泽和多彩多姿的颜色中，予以鉴定。它的硬度比长石低，但比方解石高，可以用小刀刮损，遇盐酸不起氟泡。在火焰试验中，可以产生钙的红色火焰。在闭管中加入二硫酸钾(potassium disulphate)热之，可产生氟酸，将试管壁腐蚀；同时在试管壁较上方的冷处，产生一种白色的氧化硅沉淀；
成因产状：主要形成于热液作用。有时可聚集成为独立萤石脉出现，五色透明的萤石产于花岗伟晶石和萤石脉的晶洞里；
著名产地：世界重要的产地有美国伊利诺斯州nearrosiclare,illinois、澳大利亚昆士兰州（chillagoe）、英国的cumberland，derbyshire、德国的saxony、瑞士、挪威、墨西哥、加拿大、俄罗斯和意大利和中国浙江武义，义乌，金华一带地区等。
名称来源：yttro指钇元素；fluorite源于拉丁文“fluere”，意为“流动”，是由于萤石和其他与其相似的矿物更容易熔化；fluorite一字，来自拉丁语，指流动(tofiow)；这是因为它可以作为助熔剂，使很多高熔点的金属矿物易于熔化之故；
