介然。四明鄞人也。受业于福泉山之延寿明智。居南湖。从其学悟教观之旨。元慧初。专志净业。谓同行曰。念佛三昧。往生要法也。乃然三指。建十六观堂。中设西方三圣。环以池莲。功成。复然三指。于是修观之士。有所依赖焉。建炎四年。金虏犯明州。寺众奔散。师独不去。虏奄至诃之曰。不畏死邪。师曰。贫道一生愿。力建此观堂。今老矣。不忍舍去以求生也。虏酋义之。谓曰。为我归北地作观堂。似此规制。遂逼师以行。后人悲思。乃以去日为之忌。遥尊之曰。定慧尊者。未详所终
能师。嘉禾人。少学能仁。入忏室四十载。六时行道。虽病不废。唯不食数日。其病自愈。行人之名。遂闻江浙。年既老。读文如初学。草庵戏之曰。未忘筌耶。师曰。筌何所忘。庵大惭。尝暑晒衣叹曰。慷慨丈夫。反同臧获。于是散去余长。惟留一弊絮袍。夏则束梁梠闻。袒膊入林主看主蚊。一日逢二虎。以身就之。虎俯首而去。山神兴供一方尝与交接。适香积有乏。知事来告。师力拒之。明旦施自至。皆曰。昨夜行人巡门相报。始知山神荷师。以往圆觉。慈公有能仁之命。师与文首座。然指以请。及其至。昼夜请益。大有开发。未详所终
