This paper begins with explaining the importance of teaching text reading in senior high school and then introduces the methods and procedures which the author uses in class in detail, and further, discusses the methods of reading teaching.

In the article, through analyzing the main factors of reading barriers in college students, I think about its influence for English teaching, explore how to improve the reading teaching of college English.

For English majors in EFL (English as a foreign language) situations,English literature reading course plays a very important part in improving learners language proficiency, expanding their language awareness and cultural awareness,developing students interpretative abilities and educating the whole person.
