A new method of load test, namely Osterberg load test method, is introduced to analyze the laid position of load box and the precision of confirming carrying capacity for testing data.

It was employed in testing the bearing capacity of 3 pre-stressed high-strength concrete pipe piles in the graduate apartment at Jiulong Lake campus of Southeast University in Jiangning District,and a new testing program by which load cell could be recycled was worked out successfully.

This paper conducts a study of issues on the load cell location design and relevant auxiliary measures to be adopted in the design for pile self-balanced load test method.

The author introduces the work principles of the self-balance pile test method,describes the key technology in detail from aspects of load cell locating,loading way and testing results,and according to the comparison with traditional pile test method,gets the advantages of the self-balance pile test method.
